Biography:
Christopher K. Materese was born in Binghamton, NY, in 1982 and raised in Endicott, NY. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005. He received his Ph.D. in 2010 from the University of North Carolina under the guidance of Professor Garegin Papoian. His graduate research focused on analysis of protein energy landscapes, nucleosomal electrostatics and photovoltaic polymer dynamics. His current research focuses on photochemistry in interstellar ice analogs.
